Yoga to Enter New Realities

Let’s ‘yoga talk’

So you want to stretch. You want to chill out. You even want more awareness. How funny to think that our muscles, veins, tissue and all other body parts can open our conscious mind to a new reality.

It seems as though my neck, my hand strings, my ribs, open just like my eyes, revealing a much more enjoyable world. Things release, space is created and freedom of some sort is felt. No it is not the fantasy that I had invented in my head about freedom; it is quieter. More tangible, more of the ‘nowness’ thing going on. And it welcomes me, that is for sure.

Realities under the surface of your life, do you enter these when you enter a pose? And when the pose is over, when you yoga your way through the day, do you enter other realities then too?

Do these other dimensions welcome you?

Funny that our bodies seem a necessary component to ‘higher’ consciousness. These fragile earthly matters that live a short span, are these beautiful but oh so mortal creatures really the means to evolution of spirit and reality? If spirit exists, why would it need the human body to move forward? And now we can spin in a million different directions. So let us pick one. And see how that goes.

Let’s say that spirit does not need the body to exist, but does need it to grow. That the earthly experience is a stepping stone toward galaxy knows what. We can’t go too far with this or it will become a choose your own adventure!

Nonetheless, why do our spirits’ need our bodies to grow or evolve? I sense that yoga holds the key to this question.

Breath, movement, strength, health, contentment, …

All leading where? I very much believe that we need to discover for ourselves, one by one. Yet sharing is not crossed out in the handbook, so let us share experiences and ideas. A form of yoga in itself! Yippee!

So my friend, any thoughts on why the soul might need the body to evolve?

has yoga brought you closer to this answer?
