Rudolf Steiner- A Spiritual Genius We are Only Beginning to Know

June 1st, 2009 | Filed under Uncategorized.

steiner2by Ralph White-It’s a funny thing that the man with the most impressive holistic legacy of the Twentieth Century remains almost unknown in holistic circles as a spiritual teacher. Rudolf Steiner is familiar to many people today mostly for his achievements as the founder of the Waldorf Schools and Biodynamic Farms, pioneering initiatives now worldwide that emphasize the creativity and autonomy of the child and the health and vitality of the soil.

But for the first quarter of the Twentieth Century he gave an unbroken and brilliant series of lectures on the deepest mysteries of the human condition – reincarnation and karma, the nature of higher angelic worlds, the mystery centers of antiquity, and the evolution of consciousness, to name but a few topics from his vast work. He also gave detailed descriptions of the meditation exercises that enable us to begin to know higher worlds – a path that is different from but complementary to the practices of Yoga and Buddhism. On top of all of that, he was a rigorous, trained philosopher deeply conversant with the whole history of philosophy, who remained throughout his life totally committed to the return to the contemporary world of holy wisdom, anthroposophia.

I’ll be talking about this brilliant but somewhat ‘neglected’ figure on Saturday, June 20th. The morning will give an overview of the man and his work; and the afternoon will focus on the exercises in thought, consciousness and meditation that he recommended.

If you’d like to know more about this remarkable figure who has so much to give the 21st Century, read my article here.

And don’t miss two half-day workshops with Ralph White on Saturday, June 20th.
