A heightened wave of experiential, spiritual practice is beginning to appear. Much as we still dwell in Enlightenment rationality and what Karen Armstrong so tellingly sees as superficial modernity, society is also now becoming more aware than ever that theory, theology, conceptualization, and even intellectual understanding do not by themselves a balanced life make. Well, here we are in our new home at 22 E. 30th St., just West of Madison Avenue. We’ve been here a week and a half but we’re still getting used to some big changes both in the building itself and in the neighborhood.

by Robert Notter-Most of us spend a lot of time thinking about what we want to accomplish with our business. We imagine having many clients, and hope to achieve great success and financial freedom. The thing I often notice with clients, however, is how many people think about what they want, but never manifest their full vision. Nor do they create an action plan to make it happen. The long awaited move of the Open Center from its familiar home on Spring Street to its new abode at 22 E. 30th St (just west of Madison) is almost upon us. We’re moving to a new neighborhood that we just love! We don’t quite know what it’s called …it’s one of those betwixt and between places. But whether you think it’s Murray Hill South, Flatiron or Madison Square Park North, there’s no denying that the neighborhood surrounding the Open Center’s new location … 22 East 30th Street … is a spectacular mix of cultural institutions, ethnic restaurants, and residential blocks lined with brownstones reflecting the opulence of its beginnings – a mix that encapsulates that special quality of contrasts that make our city such a compelling place to live and work.
by Ralph White-It’s a funny thing that the man with the most impressive holistic legacy of the Twentieth Century remains almost unknown in holistic circles as a spiritual teacher. Rudolf Steiner is familiar to many people today mostly for his achievements as the founder of the Waldorf Schools and Biodynamic Farms, pioneering initiatives now worldwide that emphasize the creativity and autonomy of the child and the health and vitality of the soil.
