Are You Ready to Create – and Live – a New Story?

December 5th, 2008 | Filed under Uncategorized.

When we begin to understand that our life is a story that is unfolding daily – filled with landscapes, interiors, colors, moods, characters, snatches of dialogue, situations and conflicts – and that we are the storyteller, we become tremendously powerful, no matter what’s happening.

This time of year is a great time to look at the story you’re living and to decide if and how you want to change it.

What’s your 2008 story? What people and places stand out? What are you most grateful for? What hurt the most? Were there important events or turning points that you may have missed when you were gong through them but now see as significant moments in your life? What larger story was playing out around you in your family, community, or the world that had an effect on your life? If you could give 2008 a title, what would it be?

Now consider 2009. Script it out in as much detail as possible. Doing this can actually create new structures in your brain that will begin to manifest in your external life. What’s the story you’d like to live next year? Who or what do you want to bring into your life? What title do you want to give the coming year?

Turn away from the t.v. screen, the headlines, the pundits, and pessimists. Write narratives of abundance and love. Watch what happens!
